The small raft is just a speck on the vast Mae Ping Lake surrounded by mountain ridges. It is not a home or a fishing vessel, however, but a floating school.
One of the most unusual educational institutes in the country, the floating school caters to children from the remote reaches of the lake in tambon Ko of Lamphun's Li district.
Says Samart Suta, the only teacher on the raft located upstream of Bhumibol Dam, the floating school is cherished by the seven pupils it serves.
