    genii,

"In any case the majority will prevail in free, fair, and democratic elections."

Yes, too bad we don't get that here and instead have to endure vote buying and election fraud.

#3 You are spot on - I would say that's why PTP got 32% of eligible voters' support without even winning a popular majority, and the Democrats even less. And PTP only did so "well" because of its deep pockets and utter shameless unsustainable populist handouts.

    Apathy Pure and simple.

    # 3 Lek: Wonderful, it is really people like you who are needed in larger numbers to bring about that change. The P.T has a large following, the Democrats a significantly smaller one. But people like you who, honestly need to be admired, are a tiny part of this political mess. Reconciliation on your mind and mine is a pure one without any political agendas but unfortunately, the politicians want to have their say. So for now Lek and myself too, see little hope. Disc. 1
I think there is a third group of people: Those who want nothing to do with the Pheu Thaksin Party, but who also think the Democrats are out of touch with modern Thai politics. This is a floating group who would like to see all Thai people reconciled by a completely new set of politicians.

Do not expect any change. Thailand is today divided based on political parties, not agenda, performance or credibility. No matter what the P.T does or the Democrats do will ever change even 1 mind in this country. Lovers of Thaksin will back him no matter what he does, recommends or says. The same goes for Democrat supporters. What we would need is open minds to understand, listen and act - that is asking for too much in a country where the heart rules the mind, lungs, stomach and all other organs.
