Cathay axes attendant after coffee threat

A Thai female cabin attendant with Cathay Pacific, who was at the centre of alleged misconduct involving ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's youngest daughter, was fired on Monday.

The airline issued a statement saying: "We have investigated the matter thoroughly. We can confirm that the incident involved a member of our cabin crew who has privately posted certain information on a social media site about one of our passengers and that it is an unauthorised incident.

"We can also confirm that the cabin crew concerned is no longer an employee of the company,'' it said.

Yes she was wrong to do what she did but it was out of sheer frustration, the authorities are doing nothing to bring this convict to justice. The plane appears to have been in Bangkok for goodness sake.

Very unprofessional behavior on the part of that flight attendant. Certainly not smart to post it on her facebook page. Cathay Pacific had no choice but to sack her.

More yellow hate posts. Online hate mail. The yellow say they are not violent and are inteligent. Lets just admit it. Only some of them are this way. Others are just as violent, corrupt and stupid as the ones you condem. Both sides have their bad apples. So when you make a comment or post try to keep it real and not so demeaning that it incourages this type of ideal or violence within your parties.

She was an employee of Cathay Pacific so the company handling the situation is different. But it is strange to think that these protests against the air hostess were coming from people, who thought that some Thai laws were too strict when mere verbal comments were passed. Society needs to handle such situations carefully or it would blow up into physically violent wars. I saw many innocent bystanders during the red protests, being beaten till they bled for just looking angrily at the red protestors or saying something to them. Thailand is becoming truly shameless, or at least exposing that side of it's character too often lately.

I agree with D1. All the Shinawatras are criminals and should be jailed. I'll never fly Cathay again.

Though I have no sympathy for anyone who is corrupt; politician or police, I do not support the action of this flight attendant. Flight attendants are duty bound to assist and serve the passengers. Disclosing the flight information is crossing the limit. Airlines must take disciplinary actions that's what they did. I appreciate it.
