Chalerm for amendment by sections

- +

The constitution should be amended by sections and not in its entirety to avoid legal problems, Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung said on Thursday.

Mr Chalerm disagreed with the resolution by the government coalition parties' working group on charter amendment that the parliament should proceed with the vote in the third reading of the amendment bill.

The bill seeks to amend Section 291 to make way for the establishment of a constitution drafting committee (CDA) to rewrite the entire charter.
