Chai Nat 'too slow' on activist attack

Relatives of a local teacher and respected conservationist in Chai Nat province have called on police to speed up their investigation into a shooting attack on the activist and the murder of his daughter.

Chavalit Saeng-arun, a 57-year-old teacher at Ban Nong Jaeng school in Chai Nat's Hankha district, was shot at his home on Nov 27, allegedly by his former son-in-law.

He was seriously injured and had to have his right leg amputated. The teacher, who is a veteran environmental activist, is recovering at Chai Nat Hospital.
