Witnesses 'coached' in murder case

Evidence faked to back charges, Dems claim

The Democrat Party yesterday claimed that bogus witnesses were being called to falsely implicate party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and MP Suthep Thaugsuban as they fight murder charges.

The two have been charged with ordering the killing of anti-government protesters during the 2010 unrest in Bangkok.

Democrat list-MP Ong-art Klampaibul said he had received information that fraudulent witnesses, both state officials and civilians, were being coached to fabricate accounts in the case. He provided no evidence to support his claims.

We soon will have a special t-shirt with 2 different colors – red and yellow – inside out; if someone decides to change let’s say from the yellow to the red faction he/she can still use the same t-shirt just change outside-in. This might be for sure appropriate for some politicians and/or civil servants.

There are lots of questions that still need an answer.

    1. What orders were given to soldiers in situations where unarmed people were killed?

    2. Who arranged, trained & financed the black shirts? (This was a plan to make sure the protests were violent long before they started)

    3. Why did the Police refuse to act? (This neglected their duty to the public & forced the government to call on the army)

    4. Why was the peace agreement to end the protest & call early elections suddenly rejected after initially being accepted? (This decision cost many lives)

To start from the beginning, who send and paid for thousands and thousands, low educated, innocent north Thailand people, all sent to Bangkok. Paid 300 Bath a day to protest. The run away man is responsible for this! I can just say, I was in the red shirt zone, talked to people and understood the total set up from the man on the run. They where all paid to topple the government. So, how can this be turned to something against Abhisit, who made all efforts to clear the situation. I remember the free buses and transports to north. But all refused. Also the negotiations, just stopped by a phone call from some man in middle east.
    This is Thailan

dom - "If meetings were held without being minuted or if the minutes have gone "missing" it will look very bad for AV/TS."

I'd sure like to minutes of the meetings discussing Somchai, the war on drugs, etc. Wonder where they might be?

"He provided no evidence to support his claims". As usual the democrats point fingers, deny and can't back it up with any evidence just innuendo. If they think the military leaders will back them they better think again as they have been unusually quiet on the subject and my feeling is they will let the Democrats hang out to dry. Better have a lot more substantial argument in court or the fate of these two is sealed.

How can 1 witness be involved in 4 cases ? How much is he being paid ? Wait until he mixes up his testimony then Thaksin/PTP will be shown up as the liars they are. I doubt the case will even go to court.

"Mr Prompong said the two murder suspects should stop making false claims, as they were distorting the facts of the case"

I wonder if they're having nice dreams.

As a sympathiser to neither the reds nor the yellows I can look objectively here and comment as such. People's loved ones died, they weren't militants yet somebody shot them, video evidence exists of soldiers shooting in the directions of those who died,

It is the courts view that those accused were commanding units of troops to disperse crowds by force. The court case due to the high profile of the defendants is unlikely to be a whitewash. There has been no comments yet talking about the benefit of a trial for the relatives of the victims. Let it run its course and then comment about politics upon completion perhaps

Why is it surprising they would use fake witnesses in court .PT and Thaksin put zero stake in court which is why they have to change the charter to erase the charges against their billionaire fugitive .
