Witnesses 'coached' in murder case

Evidence faked to back charges, Dems claim

The Democrat Party yesterday claimed that bogus witnesses were being called to falsely implicate party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and MP Suthep Thaugsuban as they fight murder charges.

The two have been charged with ordering the killing of anti-government protesters during the 2010 unrest in Bangkok.

Democrat list-MP Ong-art Klampaibul said he had received information that fraudulent witnesses, both state officials and civilians, were being coached to fabricate accounts in the case. He provided no evidence to support his claims.

It is standard practice all around the world for officials to write minutes recording discussions and decisions taken at government meetings, so written records should be readily available to the courts.

If meetings were held without being minuted or if the minutes have gone "missing" it will look very bad for AV/TS.

bangmodken 1, "I'm not even gonna start on the "impartiality" of DSI chief Tarit and the chief of police, who was appointed by Thaksin."
The DSI chief was appointed by Abhisit.

D12 PJT, you've made the most pertinent comment here, others are arguing til they blue in the face whether or not Abhisit should be ultimately held responsible for the deaths since he 'gave the order'. Who gave the 'order' to protest, keep protesting and not leave the site even after the risk of violence was imminent. The courts will probably rule that Abhisit was justified in ordering the army clear out the protestors and that there is no evidence to prove he ordered 'shoot to kill'. Which is exactly how the case against Thaksin for the 2,500 would likely pan out. It's a pointless tactic if this govt has engineered this whole thing.

"Democrat list-MP Ong-art Klampaibul said he had received information that fraudulent witnesses, both state officials and civilians, were being coached to fabricate accounts in the case. He provided no evidence to support his claims."

This basically sums up the democrats. All accusations, no substance...

This has nothing to do with the government nor politics but it has been dragged into it by a certain fugitive who now appears to have his own puppet police force going by the recent promotions.

simple it was... The red thugs refused to leave as ordered by law, they kept shooting at security forces and the occupied terror zone from the reds had to be freed so normal people could go to work. The police was supporting the reds so the army had to do the job of restoring law and order...the violent reds were shot and teargas or water cannons were not the right arms to remove these terrorists....Thank you Khun Abhissit for giving us back law and order...

People seem to believe that this case is going to examine and make a judgement on the totality of Khun Ahbisit and Suthep actions in response to the riots in 2010. I am not convinced - it is perfectly possible that the court simply focuses on the question of whether Khun Ahbisit and Suthep set out specifically and with malice of forethought to murder Phan Khamkong. A man who it appears they did not know and who by all accounts was killed accidentally by a person or persons unknown. Do not be surprised if this is a relatively short hearing and does not go into the depth that you expect

D7, Abbub: Who gave orders for WHAT is the key question.

Maybe even more simple: What orders where given?
That's easy, those records are all over the internet.

Orders where given to break up a violent protest that was endangering the lives of people in BKK...

And to add one more person to your list: Tarit (as a Director of CRES)

@Ian #8, where do you get this “the Reds were under siege, the army was not under attack” from?
The reds or blacks or someone connected to them killed several soldiers including Col Romklao. The red-shirts had renegade general She Daeng and his Ronin Warriors who had war weapons. The list goes on and is very long. The police did not break up the red protest when it started and after that they did even less. Someone had to remove the violent and heavy armed red-shirts from the city center because they did no go by themselves. In any civilized country that protest would have been cleared up a lot earlier. Abhisit was too patient with them.
