Witnesses 'coached' in murder case

Evidence faked to back charges, Dems claim

The Democrat Party yesterday claimed that bogus witnesses were being called to falsely implicate party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and MP Suthep Thaugsuban as they fight murder charges.

The two have been charged with ordering the killing of anti-government protesters during the 2010 unrest in Bangkok.

Democrat list-MP Ong-art Klampaibul said he had received information that fraudulent witnesses, both state officials and civilians, were being coached to fabricate accounts in the case. He provided no evidence to support his claims.

Looking at the likes and dislikes for comment 5 I see they are currently 7 to 7. An interesting insight into the way most think in this forum.
The fact is the army used live ammunition, can this be justified? I would ask you to look at the role of various peace keeping forces around the world, under what circumstances are they allowed to use live ammunition. The answer is always when under direct attack, to preserve their own lives.
Now in Thailand, irrespective of right or wrong, the Reds were under siege, the army was not under attack they were free to walk away. So someone ordered them to stay and shoot, and the buck stops at the top.

There is the usual sidestepping of the most evident element in the whole case. The usual TS/PT/UDD haters write evasive comments which have little substance and are not related to this issue.

Leaving out the "who is responsible" part of the events, on which there are two distinct camps, the one question which, answered, will solve this problem once and for all:

    Who gave the orders?

Certainly somebody did. AV & Suthep or the general(s). If a third party, name it.

    It could not be simpler.

@abbub #5: Which orders are you talking about? As far as I know Abhisit and Suthep don’t deny that they ordered the military to break up the red mayhem, if necessary with force – after the police did nothing for two month.
But there is a very big difference between that order and an order to murder one or many individuals. Do you really think Abhisit and Suthep explicitly ordered the killing of Phan Khamkong or anybody else? What a ridiculous idea!

    - "He provided no evidence to support his claims."

The typical democrat style slithering. Throw out accusations to defend themselves without substance and hope something sticks.

    - "The soldiers did not shoot anybody; the people ran into the soldiers' bullets"

    - "Jatuporn had Seh daen assassinated; I just do not have the proof".

Plus the democrats claimed they were not a puppet government of the military. So then, who gave the orders? Was it a sort of "spontaneous combustion" attributable to magical events?

If AV & Suthep did not give the orders all they need do is state who did. End of the story. But they can't; and won't.

I wonder if Chalerm is in charge of this. This would be probably the first job for which he has lots of experience.

Given the concerns about planted evidence etc in this country this perhaps is no surprise. Doing that in a case like this, which is subject to public scrutiny, is a very dangerous game as you only have to catch one of the 'witnesses' out to destroy the credibility of the whole process and the organisations that brought and investigated the charges. The right place to expose this - if it is happening - is in court for all to see

"Democrat MP Ong.....said... fraudulent witnesses...were being coached.... in the case. He provided no evidence to support his claims."

Actually this dem MP said nothing at all.

Most people already knows that the charges are entirely motivated by the need to intimidate and silence the opposition. A red shirt taxi driver from Roi Et,a key witness in four cases+? Foreign "independent photogs and journalists" who publish extensively in online red shirt medias, know who shot who, though they didn't actually see anything? I'm not even gonna start on the "impartiality" of DSI chief Tarit and the chief of police, who was appointed by Thaksin.
It's no different than the 1930s Reichtag fire trial in nazi Germany.
