PWO accused of inflating shallot stocks in B62m scam

The Public Warehouse Organisation (PWO) has falsified the amount of shallots bought from farmers under a government programme to halt the drop of shallot prices, says a Commerce Ministry panel.

The PWO over-counted the amount of shallots kept in stockpiles which forced the government to pay more than necessary for the crops.

    Of course this is to be expected, everytime you get a government finger in what should be a "free market pie"it turns out overblown, inflated & corrupt.
    Yet the PM will once again will say these are competent men, of course they are competent in scheming, scaming and stealing from the public's purse.

    More borrowings to pay for excessive over budget purchases too..
    Just wait for the National Fish Pledging Scheme to be implimented ..then things will really start to smell!

    It is no surprise that corruption,cheating and theft occures in government schemes. It is also not surprising that it is discovered. What would be a big surprise is if those at the top would actually recieve severe punishment for their wrong doing and not just be assigned to the Ministry of Inactive Posts untill the media and the public has forgotten about it.
