Pongsapat needs another 400,000 votes

Now that Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan has bowed out of the race for city governor, the ruling party is in need of a strategy to boost the popularity of Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen, who has now emerged as front-runner.

Sudarat: Viewed as politically naive

Pol Gen Pongsapat, currently secretary-general of the Office of Narcotics Control Board, needs an extra 400,000 votes from Bangkok residents to defeat incumbent governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra, sources say.

    " The source said money to be spent in the campaign will go to the party's existing supporters rather than roping in new voters. "The money will go to waste. The party may get some votes from the city police," the source said."
    1st Of course they will get some votes from the police. We know what colour many of them wear from 2010.
    2nd The exixting supporters may have not gotten as muched as promised so they will be the first ones at the trough.

    Do I read this correctly? PTP will be using paid, public servants as volunteers?
