Convicted drug kingpin's assets seized

The police have confiscated more than 25 million baht worth of assets belonging to Naw Kham, a former drug lord who has been sentenced to death in China.

Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew, the national police chief, on Tuesday launched multiple drug raids involving more than 1,600 officers at 107 locations across the northern provinces of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

Over 500,000 speed pills, meth ingredients, heroine and opium were seized in the process. A 74-rai opium plantation was also destroyed with more than 7 million baht confiscated from 170 drug suspects.

@ Deo| The bulk has probably already disappeared. What you see is only a small amount of what was seized then as you say it will probable decrease in size on its travels from dept. to dept. Much like the public "Burning" of Milk sugar (sorry Heroin" in the 90's

So what happens to the money .Does it just disappear on the way into government coffers ? Why isnt this money used for education or to build parks or for something that benefits people .
