Foreigner commits bizarre 'suicide'

CHIANG RAI – An unidentified foreigner is believed to have committed suicide in a bizarre way, putting his head in a water-filled plastic bag and then sealing it with a copper wire around his neck, in a field near the Myanmar border, reports said.

His body was found in a grass field about 300 metres from the Thai-Myanmar border in Mae Faa Luang district on Thursday.

A soldier patrolling the area found the body and alerted the police.

If his arms were free,our natural survival instinct sets in before death and rips off the plastic bag. My guess is that his arms were not free.

Police doesn't rule out murder, but yet the BP concludes it was suicide in the headline. Ooops!

The Thai police always like to reenact crimes. I would like to see somebody trying to kill himself in the described way. Maybe they can have a competition if someone is able to finish what they describe. It’s a plastic bag so if there is any imminent danger it can be ripped open right away.

It sounds very suspecious to me either. What could be his motives to commit suicide. The police are very quick to conclude as suicide without conducting proper invistigation. It's very hard to believe this is suicide based on the condition of his death, why does he need to end his life in such a way which to me is some sort of a torture. He can just kill himself at an instant if this indeed a suicide. Authorities please find time to find out the real story of his death for the sake of his family.

Suicide? You've got to be joking! Even suggesting it should lead to a criminal investigation.

About as believable as an unidentified foreigner committing suicide in a bizarre way, shooting himself in the back of the head, dragging his own body 20 metres into bushland and burying himself in a field near the Myanmar border. I may have exagerated a bit, but these "bizare suicides" never happen in the West.

Bizarre, yes. I would almost say it was impossible to do as they say, sounds more like foul play to me and a cover up coming!
