Sukhumbhand to resign Wednesday

MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra will resign as Bangkok governor tomorrow, Jan 9, and his resignation will take effect before midnight on the same day.

The governor said on Tuesday he initially planned to submit his resignation today to city clerk Ninnat Chalitanont.

But Mrs Ninnat was still on an official trip abroad and would not be back until tomorrow, so he would instead submit his resignation then, after reporting to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to hear charges over the skytrain extensions contract.
