3 Injured in children's day billboard collapse

The traditional Children's Day activities at Government House yesterday were marred by a billboard collapse which injured three people, including two young boys.

SLEEPER OF THE HOUSE: Two-year-old Naruesorn Khunsat takes a nap in the prime minister’s chair during Children’s Day activities at Government House yesterday. Each child was given a three-second photo opportunity in the PM’s chair, but the queue was so long that by the time it was Naruesorn’s turn, he was too tired to smile for the camera.

The accident occurred at the so-called "Asean Community zone" about 3.20pm when a large billboard was tipped over by strong winds, injuring a mother and her two sons.

“She also instructed authorities to investigate the cause of the accident.” Could it be anything to do with poor design and construction where so often safety is a secondary concern to doing things on the cheap.
