Thaksin should take 'economic role'

A majority of people think former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's role in Thai society should be on solving economic problems than on resolving political conflict, according to the results of an Abac poll revealed on Sunday.

The poll was conducted between Jan 7-12 on 2,071 people in Bangkok, Phetchaburi, Saraburi, Nakhon Pathom, Chon Buri, Kamphaeng Phet, Phetchabun, Chiang Mai, Maha Sarakham, Roi-et, Nakhon Ratchasima, Loei, Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, Narathiwat, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Songkhla.

Asked whether conflict in society would end if Thaksin was excluded from being involved in solving problems, 52.7% said "no" and 47.3% said "yes".

Thaksin is one of the most creative characters / leaders I have ever known. Some of the things that came from him includes "one tambon one product" and starting the Bangkok fashion capital of Asia campaigne. He just gets the whole country milling and rolling the last time he was in charge. The years without him were very very dull and slow! Sure, the guy has done a lot to benefit himself and his business interest. He was already a rich, famous and influential man even before he ascended into PMship. But, he is still a lot better than a lot of other Asian leaders from lesser background who have robbed whole populations and countries.

So some want a convicted economic felon to oversee economics? Hahaha-What's next? If you look around, there are many bright young people that truly care about Thailand that are not corrupt, yet. You don't even have to look that far, you all know at least one. Elect them, trust them, get rid of ANY questionable office holder. Trust the young people that can maybe make a huge difference in rulings FOR the people. Put your faith in change before you are left behind in this highly global life anew. Get rid of ALL those that simply want confusion and conspiracies toward everything before it's too late. Let the younger have their deserved place now

Thai is going backward then, they run out of things without any options but to collect rubbish and recycle it.

Thailand is not only Bangkok. Thai peoples are not only Bangkokians. In Thailand, many schools has been worried about the construction cost of a schoolhouse in local-places.
Why the old conservatives has left a local-development undone in north- and Isaan-district ??
What are they interesting than developing the local-districts ? To collect money ?? The thinking to have territorial ambitions in Isaan but not interesting a development of local-districts is in contradiction with a democracy in Thailand.

80years passed in Thailand from amending the constitution in 1932. And, 68years passed in Thailand after World War II. But Thailand even now has not been able to realize an economic self-sufficiency without other country's development assistance. The drinkable water-supply was established in the capital-city Bangkok recently.
What has the old conservatives contributed to Thai society until now ?? What did they do for Thai society ?
They -officials & conservative politicians- may have put their hearts into filling their own pockets by taking advantage of their positions for the vested interests through an invitation of foreign enterprise

D6 : LOL! I hope you're being sarcastic. If not...

    1) If Thaksin knows what you claim he knows, the plight of the poor/the farmers etc.,then why during the now at least 12 years in power of local government in Isaan and Northern Thailand hasn't he done anything to help them help themselves?

The only credit one might give him,is making the poor/farmers even more dependent on hand-outs.

2)And a big tax-contributor??? He cheat,he lies,he transfer assets and set up off shore companies to funnel profits out of the Country to avoid paying tax.

Anytime thaksin has engaged himself in "non-corrupt" business dals he failed.
    Thus make your choice Thailand.
