Preah Vihear protesters not welcome

A group of local people on Sunday rallied in Kantharalak district of Si Sa Ket province in protest against the Dharma Yatra group which has set up a stage in their village and is delivering speeches demanding the return of Preah Vihear temple to Thailand.

The villagers said they are afraid the group's activities could lead to a clash between Thai and Cambodian soldiers which could subsequently force them to evacuate their homes similar to what had happened in the past.

The Dharma Yatra group formed to safeguard Thai territory, led by Saman Sri-ngam, on Sunday morning set up a stage at Ban Sok Kham Pom in tambon Phu Pha Mok. Their leaders then took turns to deliver a speech demanding the return of Preah Vihear temple.

The villagers and army had already labelled these "patriotic" protestors as trouble-makers.

Sensible Thai villagers - the true Thai patriots.

The violence inciting, pseudo-patriots from the PADster mob against democracy are rightly loathed and detested by patriotic Thai citizens who value peace, reason and justice, especially with their neighbours.

The Dharma Yatra group stirs up problems for the local people who will have bombs falling on their heads if The Dharma Yatra group does not go back to the safety of Bangkok. Maybe The Dharma Yatra group would like their houses in Bangkok bombed since that's it's war they want. The Dharma Yatra group has no common sense, only their self interests in mind.

The proper and right way to solve issue like this is through proper consultation and meeting at the proper place and time. Making noise along the streets will only make the situation worst. The ICJ is the best so far we have to once in for all iron out this issues, not just by any one else whose motives are for their self interest.

In sept 2009, the so called "smart and educated" yellow shirts-PAD went to rally on vicinity of Preah Vihear asking for an immediate return of the temple at any cost including a war.
A very violent clash occurred between them and those "uneducated brain washed paid farmers" who dare not vote as Bkk wants. The local villagers stated that they have lived for a thousand years in peace with Cambodians and want to keep good relationship with their neighbor including those of a foreign country.
Between those 2 groups, it is a long time that I have chosen who I support....
