According to the woman, she just killed her child for no apparent reason. Guys, how do you interpret this statement" after the killing she surrendered to the Police for fear that her husband will lost his job? Her statements seemed pointless and one can only think that she is out of her mind period due to severe depression. Thai's are easy target of this kind of diseases mainly due to the non existence of proper authorities to look into this problem or due to their belief that this such disease is non-exist in the society. Everything happenings are normal way of life, like it's a sort of accidents.

GDF I think, from what I understand, most Thais are too ashamed and feel humiliated at the thought of even expressing certain inner problems. :et alone go to seek help from a psychologist or psychiatrist.

While it is true in a sense these professionals as a may task must help to reintegrate people and not to enlighten them, sometimes they are able to help people avoid the worst.

I have seen many Thais avoid psychologists or doctors even, and prefer going to mediums and soothsayers and other quacks. It is a sort of bizarre, collective refusal rational thinking.

Oh no! Some people try so hard for years and cannot conceive, yet others take the life of a child so lightly. So sad.

This is very sad. Around one in seven mothers of new born are said to experience some form of depression in the first three months after giving birth, it’s tragic that if this was a case of Postnatal Depression it was unrecognized as such. I hope the young woman receives the help she needs.

Anyone who kills their own child must be mentally ill. Defining mental illness is tricky. Society defines according to what it considers acceptable. What is acceptable in one society can be considered mentally or spiritually ill in another.
