These killers are way beyond being insurgents. The term only pacifies their lust for blood. Put a bounty on them and offer anonymous rewards following convictions. The "crime stoppers" program is badly needed here.

Thais are much more concerned about some ancient ruins and a few square meters of land on the border with Cambodia. Three entire provinces in the south have been taken over by terrorists and nothing is done. Hello ?

A society in deep decay. Mr. Vornai has it exactly right. Does not say much at all the for the Thai Army or Police capabilities. Chalerm too busy getting drunk to do anything worthwhile to solve this problem.

I think it is time to ban riding on motorbikes for more than one person and lets see what this order will results in.

Also better to shift the schools to safer places like Songkala or Surat Thani until the government solve the South eruption... Which I believe they DON'T want really.

First the military, then village officials, next teachers, now, every day workers and
the government continues with meetings, talks, dignitorial visits plus a healthy helping of "lets wait and see ". Two other possibliities remain : 1 ). Give them what they want or, 2). Go, in force,on foot, from the beginning of the troubled area, house to house, find them and their weapons, accept no excuses from collaborators which will, often, include relatives and level some of the
"shock and awe" training the troops have studied/practiced for years - end the problem ? no, but it sure as hell will minimize it, and give Thais some confidence in their milita

"more than 700 teachers in the deep South took an oath not to abandon their students"

Shame the government haven't doe the same for the teachers in the south
Poor children will be scared for life seeing the man shot while they were going to school.

The killings seem to becoming more and nore random!
