Govt to invest 2.2 trillion baht in transport overhaul

The government yesterday announced a 2.2-trillion-baht investment package to boost the country's transport system, including a massive increase in rail services in Bangkok.

The Pheu Thai Party-led government aims to increase connectivity between Bangkok and other provinces with a new high-speed train service, and to improve travel conditions in the capital by adding nearly 400km to the existing electric rail network.

The investment programme, to be overseen by Transport Minister Chadchat Sittipunt, also aims to encourage trade and investment.

"I think there are some genuine actions being taken lately to tackle disunity and problems in the South and results will come."

I haven't heard of any. Care to name a few of these actions?

Mr Brillant, I think there are some genuine actions being taken lately to tackle disunity and problems in the South and results will come. Let them do their work and if they succeed people will unite. Thai people do not hate each other, they just got carried away with a difference in opinion. In the west actions are taken when people rise and speak but unfortunately in Thailand the use of unnecessary force by 3rd parties has made the country less democratic every time.

How about PTP spending some time developing a country that's not divided where people appear to literally hate each other. Then there's the South. I challenge PTP to hold their next mobile cabinet meeting there.
Instead, the priorities seem to be refilling the trough so the politicians are happy.
