Anyone who keeps a close eye on the cars used by the prime minister would have been delighted with Friday's national lottery result.

It seems positively uncanny, but the winning numbers come up as part of the main lottery winner (above) and as the precious two-digit winning number (below)

But some punters and conspiracy theorists are crying foul, noting the suspicious frequency of winning lottery numbers matching the numbers on Yingluck Shinawatra's licence plate.

If you are fixing the lottery number, would you fix the numbers that are popular with the punters and keep repeating and keep paying out?This is as ridicously as it is funny and there are posers who believe it is happening.

I guess for the next election the slogan will be “vote for your lucky PM” and probably lots of Thais will go for that - Amazing Thailand
And about the probability that the numbers match her cars: If you are part of the Shinawatra clan with probably hundreds of cars then it is not really surprising when one of the cars has a matching number.

Why not simply require that the winning numbers for all lotteries be drawn in public through a method similar to that used elsewhere in the world of multiple drums of numbers which are then picked out at random. A simple mechanical method is hard to fix and relatively easy to observe

This sequence of 6 digits is just as likely as any other selection drawn at random. (and by the way, no numbers are ‘lucky’)

My maid writes numbers on a slip of paper and then gives them to my parrot to pick up the numbers. My maid then plays these numbers in the underground lottery. My parrot picked 99 this month, I told my maid she had the numbers up-side-down and that she really picked 66.
