Thai Justice is discrediting itself a little bit more each day riddled with political influences.

There is a lesson to be learned. In case you were caught by police , do not forget to arrange for a wheelchair, a warm blanket, a surgical mask and a very pitiable face. It will also help to have friends and relatives in high levels (Bayoke tower does not count).
Now I understand why of a sudden the" Electronic ankle bracelet" was in news lately. Next step for Mr.Khunploem to be back with his nice family.

I have a better idea. Why not just move his friends and family to prison with him in Bangkok. After all harboring, aiding,or giving comfort to a fugitive is a felony crime. No one is so stupid as to think he hid in Chonburi for 7 years by himself. They can all be put in a friends and family size cell in Bangkok and be really close.

He didn't have a problem walking after he got arrested, and now he needs a wheel chair.

This is just a show to make it look he really is in poor health, and I wouldn't be surprised after things have calmed down. He will be back in his home under house arrest because of poor health.

ah the son ,the culture minister must be happy that he now knows the where abouts of his father, after 7 years of not knowing,it must come as a relief to his family, and that his father will be well looked after,by the mayor of pattaya.it must have been differcult for the father, avoiding his family for so long in chonburi

What happened to the promise of not using my position to in any way influence the case?

'Pol Col Suchart Wong-anantachai, the department chief, said he had approved the transfer at the request of Culture Minister Sonthaya Khunploem, Kamnan Poh's eldest son, and his relatives.'

This is a great relief to us all. I'm sure nobody wanted to see poor Kamnan Po do any hard time.

With special thanks to Chalerm, this government seems to be doing a great job of promoting justice for all, and no double standards. Exactly as I expected.

The department chief believed Somchai, being elderly and sick, would not try to escape.
He did escaped and evade arrest....any guarantee that he won't???

I think many people expected the justice system to fold up under the expected pressure of powerful and influential friends of Kamnan Poh, but this quickly?

And culture minister K. Sonthaya wasn't even politically savvy enough to have a less politically-linked relative make the request. Such arrogance is breathtaking.

    Reds, any comments?

What kind of message is this to send out? It's ok to be a Provincial Lord, have people murdered, go on the run for 7 years, and get caught. All you have to do is be seen to be going to prison for the media and public because his son will make the arrangements to have him transferred back home to his own province. He will end up staging visits to hospital when it suits him, and he will be given 7 star service in the prison. He can have what he wants. The son should be forced to resign from his position, the father should be sent to a Bangkok prison under high security as he is a murderer, and he should never be released.
