Six for questioning over Kamnan Poh

Crime Suppression Division investigators will question six people about whether they provided shelter and assistance for convicted, and now jailed, murderer Somchai "Kamnan Poh" Khunploem while he was a fugitive.

CSD commander Supisal Pakdinaruenart said summons would be issued for the director, the registrar and security chief of Samitivej Hospital, where Kamnan Poh had received medical treatment. They would be called in to testify to police investigators.

A second set of summons would be issued for Vinai Ponpaipal, 50, the kamnan of tambon Samet of Chon Buri's Muang district, Somchai's personal doctor, who is a woman, and the driver of the Lexus SUV in which Kamnan Poh was travelling when he was arrested on Jan 30.

Disc. 22: That's an interesting possibility. As social networks increase in number and influence, perhaps the politicians, government servants, and police will find it more and more difficult to be corrupt and get away with it. My only concern there, though, is whether those people will hack into the networks to find out where the whistle-blowers live. Is there such a government department already, I wonder?

I can't see why people are getting so upsetover this.
It is normal for the wealthy and politically well connected never to suffer for the crimes they commit while the poor and needy suffer the most.
It is just the normal double standards being applied. Sarcasm intended.
Unless and until someone strong enough comes along it will always be so. The advent of the social internet however is a great help as more and more information comes out and the "authorities" try to stop it the harder it will be to sweep things under the carpet.

The rule for the rich and influential is that scapegoats must be found. No doubt we will hear soon that some Bahtless and uneducated cleaner is going to go to jail for not telling Kamnan Poh's Dad where his son was all those 7 years. Please remove this news from the Bangkok Post Archives because it is ruining the fine, honest, untainted image and reputation of Thailand's fine, honest, and untainted Ministers, politicians, and Police.

Bonzo, Disc 12 -- It is very true that Uncle SMS (or A Kong) would certainly have been alive today if he was given medical treatment at that time. However, the authorities could easily claim that breaking Article 112 is a serious crime and must not get medical treatment under any circumstances.

In view of clear 'double standards' afforded only to influential figures only, I give up and can't offer further comments ! Just waste of time !

No,no,no - The people you are asking will all say, no, they didn't know he was around. You ask the people who worked with or lived nearby where you believe he was "harbored". The neighbors are most likely to have seen him in 7 years ! Then you ask "suspects" and tell them you have evidence he was there.

No shame on the police and also Politician. They will even will sell their mother to the highest
bidder. This is what will bring the whole country down.

Tomorrow the Minister of Culture is going to demand that this story be removed from the Internet because it is tarnishing the image of Thailand.

7 years to track down a guy living in his own house. How long do you think is it going to take to track down the four police now out on bail while sentenced to death.

Is it all as simple as the judges getting 50% of the gross bail take or what. Does anyone know any other country where this is possible without absurd bribes. The police are out on a million Baht each arn't they

Come on all, Minister of Culture was too busy checking out You Tube clips to notice that Dad was siting next o him! Like how the police go to the Doctor's and Nurses who are obliged under their code of ethics to treat sick people, instead of going straight to family members first! But then again, "Sorry officer, I was surfing You Tube at the time!'
