CSD targets six in Kamnan Poh shelter inquiry

The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) will question six people next week on whether they provided shelter and assistance to convicted murderer and former fugitive Somchai Khunploem, aka Kamnan Poh.
CSD commander Pol Maj Gen Supisarn Phakdinaruenart said yesterday the director, the registrar and the security chief of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital would be summoned. Police suspect Somchai was registered at the hospital under the false name of Kim Sae Tang.
A second set of summonses would be issued for Vinai Ponpaiparn, 50, the kamnan of tambon Samet of Chon Buri's Muang district, Somchai's personal doctor and the driver of the Lexus in which Somchai was travelling when he was arrested. All three were accompanying Somchai in the vehicle on Jan 30, the day of the arrest.
