Thai 'kissathon' aims at world record

PATTAYA - Nine Thai couples locked lips Tuesday in hopes of setting a certified world record for the longest kiss ever, but the effort proved too much for a septuagenarian couple who dropped out after just one hour.

The other participants were lip-locked Tuesday night in an effort to stay kissing for 50 hours, 25 minutes and one second to enter the Guinness Book of World Records. They were forbidden from sitting down at all, and could only go to the toilet after the first six hours.
