BoT: Disagreement can be beneficial

Differences of opinion between the Bank of Thailand and the Ministry of Finance over appropriate use of the repurchase rate to control foreign direct inflow are not unusual, BoT governor Prasarn Trairatvorakul said on Thursday.
It would not tarnish the credibility of the central bank in any way, and could even have a good affect by alerting the bank to something it might have over looked, Mr Prasarn said.
“I don’t think these differences amount to a conflict. It is not unnatural to have differences of opinion.
