Police arrested Mr Jaema on Feb 5 and during questioning he admitted that he and two other men drove a car fitted with the explosives and parked it in the basement of the hotel on March 31, 2012.

The subsquent explosion killed three people and injured more than 350 other people, and caused untold damage to Hat Yai's tourism industry.
