In the UK, they have stopped calling incidents like this "Accidents", instead classing them as "Collisions". Accidents implies they are random acts that cannot be prevented, where in fact nearly all involve carelessness, negligence or dangerous behaviour by one or more parties involved. Collisions of this type will continue to happen with serious consequences while young people are allowed to drive high-powered vehicles with little or no training, and motorcyclists who don't wear helmets rarely show any riding skill. Excess alcohol also a common feature. Too few facts to make judgments here, but I know it doesn't stop people!

The kid is trying to put blame on the early closing of the friendship bridge I guess. Maybe if that friendship bridge is open the whole day, this accident would not have happened... this is what the kid is trying to imply..

most accidents are due to rectlessness, carelessness and irresponsibility. It does not just occured without any reason at all. No matter what somebody should be held liable or accountable here..

At least we did not read “the driver fled the scene” which would have been the “normal behavior” in this country.

    This happens all the time:

speeding cars and swerving motorcycles - both need to learn to drive properly. In most cases the motorcycle loses.

I see the 'class warriors' are at it again.
You DO know that poor kids driving pickups and motorbikes kill thousands more than rich kids in Porshes, don't you? And you DO know that Thais on motorbikes are often reckless and careless, right?

So far there is nothing to suggest it was anything other than an accident ('speeding' doesn't imply breaking the speed limit yet). There is no suggestion that his father will try to pervert the investigation. Try to rein in the hysteria until there is something to get hysterical about.

"We are but playthings of the gods, they kill us for their pleasure"

"told police he was in a hurry and speeding" the couple did not cut sharply in front of anything. This kid was driving reckless and killed them now is trying to save himself from prison. Speeding in a Porsche the police should be able to figure out how fast he was going. Too fast. 2 innocent people killed because this kid was in a hurry. This behavior is really wrong. Daddy will take care of it, if he has enough money for a Porsche for an 18 year old

Amazing how often a motorcycle "swerves" in front of some rich kid's speeding sports car, only to be run over and killed by the kid.

A speeding 18 year-old in a Porsche. Incredible. He was justified to be speeding as he was in a hurry and it was the couple's fault you see. Only in Thailand.

This is so sadly wrong. Win the lottery and buy.... a motorcycle? And not learn how to ride it? And go riding at night? What a shame all around, truly sad.
