Chuwit targets police station scandal

BANGKOK - A large sign drawing attention to alleged corruption in the construction of police stations nationwide has gone up near the Royal Thai Police Headquarters in Pathum Wan district of Bangkok.

Maverick politician Chuwit Kamolvisit says the sign is one of 2,000 that a team from his Rak Thailand Party plans to erect around the capital.

The message on the sign near the police headquarters says: "396 police station projects with a budget of 5.848 billion baht. Don't let corruption continue". It is the 1,521st sign to go up, according to Mr Chuwit.
