Police hunt Karen girl torturers

Police have obtained arrest warrants and placed a 100,000 baht bounty on a couple accused of kidnapping and enslaving a young Karen girl after they did not show up for questioning on Monday morning.

Nathee Dangoon, 35, and his wife Rattanakorn Piyaworathamwas, 33, of Kamphaeng Phet province, were taken into custody and then released on bail last Thursday and were scheduled for further interrogation by police.

They are accused of abducting the girl known as Air, whose real name is not being revealed, when she was seven years-old from a farm in Kamphaeng Phet’s Sai Ngarm district on May 20, 2008, and taking her to their house in Muang district.

No surprise here, the couple had some friends within the Puea Thaksin regime and their brownshirts. Now they are hosted by fugitive's eternal friend in Cambodia.

As well as photographing her for the purposes of gaining evidence, why does the poor girl have to be videoed in public and why has the video been allowed into the public domain?

It is not just the two Thais who tortured this girl who are sick, the whole voyeuristic Thai society is sick.

the video is incredibly upsetting. It breaks my heart to see any child in that condition. I hope she gets the protection she deserves now and can start to rebuild her life. The perpetrators must be candidates for life imprisonment surely.

Very hard not to be angry at the careless decision by cops to let these 2 go free. Their crime is a heinous one and should be punished by a very lengthly jail term. Difficult to comprehend why bail refusal is mandatory for drug offences yet torturers and killers are able to go free.
Who is the bigger criminal and who is the bigger threat. Disgusting decision making, i hope they right this wrong and catch these 2 quick

Now who would have not predicted they would flee. My bet they are in Cambodia now. How could the Judge have allowed bail in such a heinous crime?

The police are just plain stupid. Why were these scum released? If the idiots manage to catch them again, I suggest that this couple be subjected to the same cruel torture they inflicted on this poor girl.
