Ministry delays hospital fee rise

Department studies impact on national budget

The Public Health Ministry has postponed its plan to increase medical service fees at state hospitals.

The Comptroller-General's Department (CGD) requested the delay, Sophon Mekthon, the deputy permanent secretary for public health, said.

Public Health Minister Pradit Sinthawanarong last month announced that medical service fees charged by state hospitals would increase by 5-10% on average from this month.

If the politicians stopped squabbling with each other; attacking each other with law suits and court cases; and being so corrupt and self-serving; the level of stress felt by people would be reduced. Stress causes around 95% of all illnesses. With the reduced stress, the government would spend less on Health Care, and there would be more money available for beneficial projects. Just keep the hands of the politicians off the extra available money, though.
