PM urges public to save energy

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Saturday called on householders and businesses to use less electricity in April when gas supplies from Myanmar are disrupted for routine maintenance.

Myanmar will close its Yadana gas field for annual maintenance from April 5-14, which would reduce by 25% the amount of natural gas supplied to Thailand for electricity production.

On her "Yingluck Government Meets the People" weekly programme on NBT, Ms Yingluck said the Energy Ministry had made plans to ensure sufficient electricity supply during the period.

Don't panic folks. The PM "has ordered all state offices to cut electricity use to prevent an energy crisis". How many state offices are there?....Just what I suspected !!

"She assured people that there would be no blackouts on April 5, the day that consumption of electricity is expected to peak."

2011 "There will be no floods next year."
    2012 "DOH!"

Dao dis#4, don't you think that the Dem Party has already thought of that and have station their men to monitor whether Yingluck's maids switch on the air-con?

I wonder if Yingluck will really instruct her maids to turn off the aircon at her house .

What a bunch of jokers... it is so amazing the lack of common sense they have. On one hand, I promote millions of first time car buyers, buildings of shopping malls and low-quality concrete condominiums, regardless environmental damages and health issues; then on the other hand, they start begging common citizens to reduce energy consumption... pathetic, purely lack of long term thinking and planning. Why don't you ask the business sector to stop their activity for those few days instead?

Noble as it might seem , I still suspect a hidden agenda in line with the rice scam....I think they are preparing the public for rises in the energy prices....profiting the New Elite of the North in many ways....
