New South Korea president warns the North

SEOUL - Park Geun-Hye became South Korea's first female president Monday, vowing zero tolerance with North Korean provocation and demanding Pyongyang "abandon its nuclear ambitions" immediately.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was singled out for a special greeting by brand new president Park Geun-hye at the inauguration reception line on Monday, and then had the best "seat" in the house for a Gangnam Style show.

As leader of Asia's fourth-largest economy, Ms Park, the 61-year-old daughter of late military strongman Ms Park Chung-Hee, faces challenges of slowing growth and soaring welfare costs in one of the world's most rapidly ageing societies.

Discussion 11 brilliant : PM's performance quality is judged by whether she is able to manage the country successfully in a macroscopic point of view, not by observing her physical reactions on the inauguration stage.

androidtroll - "Discussion 3 brilliant : To be beautiful is not a sin for women."

I didn't say it was, but when they is the only redeeming quality her supporters can come up with, it says a lot!

Discussion 3 brilliant : To be beautiful is not a sin for women. To take a picture during an inauguration is not a crime for the function guests.

#3, she take a photo for her kid. What a crime! And if you want to know what most people would rather in Thailand, please refer you to the last G.E.

Men have ruled the world for since the beginning of time, and it's a giant mess, wholesale failure, war, famine, genocide, lies, cheats, corruption....we can't lose or go much more wrong than we already are......how about we give the women a chance to make it right. Women have been successfully fixing mans' mistakes since the Garden of Eden.

Daughter of a former prime minister, shaking hands with baby sister of a former prime minister, sending a broadside comment to a son and grandson of a former prime minister, while commenting on gender inequality and family monopolies. Oh the irony! Same old dynastic Asian politics.

canuck - "Thailand still has the most beautiful leader in the world."

Well, I'm glad she's good for something. Personally, I believe most people would rather have a plain looking PM who would lead Thailand into the 21st century. She looks more exacted to see the Gangnam dancing than to meet the S. Korean President. At least she'll come back with some memories - video of dancing!
