Flooding and heavy rain in South

The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department on Tuesday issued a warning for people in the South to prepare for widespread scattered rain with heavy falls in some areas and the danger of floods today and tomorrow.
People living near hillsides and waterways in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, Satun, Krabi and Trang should prepare for possible flash floods, forest runoff and landslides, the department’s director general Chatchai Promlert said.
Meanwhile, runoff from Khao Banthad mountain range has inundated people’s houses and local roads in Charad, Somwang, Khlong Sai Khao sub-districts of Kongra district, and Angthong and Ban Na sub-districts of Srinakarin district of Phatthalung after three days of heavy rain in the southern province.
