Tarit 'too busy' to attend House panel

The House committee on politics, communication and public participation threatened legal action against Department of Special Investigation (DSI) chief Tarit Pengdith after he failed to show up and brief them on the investigation into "men in black" linked to the 2010 political violence.

The committee asked Mr Tarit to appear on Feb 27 and clarify issues relating to the armed men in black, but he did not appear, Democrat Party list-MP Watchara Petchtong, the deputy chairman, said on Wednesday.

"Nor was it trying to politically bully the DSI chief. "

“If he fails to show up again next time, the committee will have to use measures in the 2011 Summons Act for House of Representatives and Senate committees and enforce them with both fines, imprisonment and disciplinary punishment,” Mr Watchara said."

Now does that not sound like a bully?

This falls under the rubric of "The best defense is an offence" The investigations are getting close to focusing on who did all the maiming and killing at R'song, and where responsibilities lie. Time for the DP to trot out the "Men In Black" spin again, to muddy the waters with unsubstantiated innuendo.

Violence? - contextualizing correctly, there were anti-coup protests, and an attack by pro-coup forces. Fightback?.Yeah!.Duh!

This MIB spin has been a favorite "change the conversation" tactic of the DP when they don't like the discussion. Amazing how some political discussion Boards will fall for that conversation change tactic

If he had time to make accusations then he has time to back them up .

Most interesting: "Also, Justice Minister Pol Gen Pracha Promnok had not ordered him to explain these matters to the committee." This says it all who is calling the shots at the Democrat Special Investigation (DSI).
So sad that Mr. Tarit cannot decide for himself what is right or wrong.
He must wait for an order from the government.
