The cabinet has approved a master plan to combat human trafficking, deputy government spokesman Chalitrat Chatharubeksa said on Thursday.

He said the plan was proposed by the Social Development and Human Security Ministry.

It covers nine issues, including solving the problem of human trafficking for labour, looking after labourers at risk of being trafficked, improving the 2008 anti-human trafficking law and establishing a system to screen victims of trafficking.
