Dear Khun Abhisit. This is the opportunity I hope you have been looking for, the chance to build a strong foundation for the real campaign.

Please push, pull, drag or kick Sukhumbhand to deliver on his promises and do more. This is a protest vote against TS , not an endorsement of Sukhumbhand. Use this chance -good luck.

Wasn't ' there a convicted criminal on the run who had the arrogance and ignorance to predict even a PT/UDD pole would win??? Better stay with your camels forever man!!!!

Congratulations to.... the majority of Bangkok for NOT forgetting who terrorised and burned their city....Congratulations for NOT believing the treacherous Dubai propaganda machine....Congratulations for NOT sinking to the level of the red villages....

After 48 days of listening to people's concerns I wonder if it is a lesson to be learned that the Bangkok people are not happy with the national rice scheme and do not want to subsidize it any more or that the PM & government will just ignore this fact and tempt their voter base with this ridiculous subsidy that is costing taxpayers a fortune.

Can we therefore concede that Peua Thai's Pongsapat is less appealing than a 'utility pole' to a majority of Bangkok voters, Mr Thaksin?

I give it less than 2 weeks before Tharit is instructed to lay charges against Sukumbhand.

Wow, the most unelectable incumbant imaginable won with a record high number of votes! Seems Bangkok people turn a blind eye to corruption in office just as much as the "uneducated" people of Isaan.

  • Discussion 17 : 03 Mar 2013 at 20.0717

The vote is the difference between an educated Bangkok populous that knows better and an uneducated populous like Isaan that doesn't know any better. Too much power could have spelled doom for Thailand and this sends a clear message, that PT still does not control the educated Thai vote. Now the Dem's need to get busy, invest in education reform and educate the rest of the country. An 100% educated populous is the best way to a better Thailand in the future.

Wuaa the Dems has won in their stronghold of Bkk, what a super performance to be proud of !
I am surprised to see that in this city where nobody is supposed to support PT, this party could get 1.07 million votes vs 1.25 million for the winner. I am surprised to see also the number of constituencies who voted in majority in 2013 by comparison of the only 4 consituencies PT could get in 2009, a number in huge rise.
It is is democracy, there is a winner, in his stronghold, congratulations to him but if you compare results of the 2 last governor elections, there is a party who is in clear rise by numbers of voters in Bkk and it not the Dems !

I wonder if Thaksin is now thinking if he should have nominated that utility pole and not a policeman. Maybe PT would have convinced some people that the utility pole is reliable and incorruptible – at least a lot more than most policemen.
I hope the DEMs will use the next years to improve Bangkok in any way they can for everyone, rich, poor, red, yellow and all others. If they show all people living in Bangkok that they do a good and honest job then maybe the get a chances for the next general election.
