Protest against Buri Ram flyover

BURI RAM - Residents and business operators in Muang municipality and adjoining tambon Chum Hed gathered on Wednesday to oppose the plan for a flyover above the rail track on a Buri Ram-Satuk bypass road.

The protesters carried signs declaring they "don't want the bridge built".

The Highways Department earlier organised a public hearing in a hotel in Muang district to gather opinions from  local people.

If they don't want it, please build it at the 10 minute traffic lights on route 331 caused by AMATA industrial estate in Chonburi.

"They said traffic in the area is not heavy and a flyover was not necessary at this time".

So what? The officials involved (Buri Ram...now who could that be?) and their relatives who will be awarded the contract to build it,want the money.
