Missing girl, 11, raped by gang

An 11-year-old girl who had disappeared from a child-care institution in Phitsanulok was found having sex with a group of boys in a local apartment, officials said on Friday.

The National Operation Center for Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking made the discovery after receiving a report from the girl's parents that their daughter had gone missing from the institution.

Nattapong Bamrungkul, a staff member of the centre, said it sent a team to look for the girl and found her with a gang of teens gathered in two rooms of an apartment near the Phitsanulok bus terminal.

Tai Pan. Yes it happens all over the world but with nothing like the regularity it happens here. I work in child protection and we get over 500 calls a day, every day. That will be a tiny fraction of the real numbrs. I too love Thailand but turning a blind eye is not the anser, indeed it is the cause here.

    Disc #10

Your points about problems in other countries are well taken. Unfortunately this discussion thread is about THIS ARTICLE therefore it would seem participants expressing opinions are not "off base"
Atrocities committed in other nations are still atrocities, subject to criticism and do not serve to counter, diminish, trivialize, or rationalize crimes in Thailand. Does the phrase "Evil prevails when good men do nothing" mean anything to you? Why in the world would someone responding to this terrible story even think about Thailands credit rating being raised?

    Tai pan
venomous comment, but you miss a vital link.
Criticism is NOT 'picking on' and comparing Thailand with europe and US is copmaring an apple with a peer.
As for Thai=lovers, critics are inspiring otherwise "pooking"politicians, civil social organisations to tiptoe their efforts to make a difference
Law enforcement exposure on line is in line with reality, social media shows incidents that indeed happem all over the worls, just as all over the world, well almost all , ordinairy inhabitants can contribute , in forums like this BP opportunity, to ventilate, frustration, fear, criticism, constructive opinion and even DEstrutive opinions.

Why constantly pick on Thailand .
This happens in every corner of the globe.
Have a look at your own backyard .
I see 80 people shot to death by 1 man in Sweden , daily death and mayhem in every Muslim country . Children in Africa trained as killers .usa troopers shoot 4 dead in Ohio .North Korean people run by idiots . And on, and on .
My advice to all you Thailand knockers is . GO HOME .
I love this country and accept it has negatives like everywhere else . Has anyone noticed that Thailand has just had their credit rating raised . No , probably not . Too busy being authorities on the ills of the world .
Look for the good in humanity ,not focus on the bottom rung .

This is a country run by criminals, going no where. These kids have nothing to inspire them, and nothing better to do but find themselves trouble. A fish rots from the head.

    Womens day Thailand?

The boys fled the scene dispite the presence of a vice squad and police officers in charge?
    BTW
Apart from this shocking event, it is becoming a problem in LOS as we see more and more moral decay taking place with minors as "keyplayers" in a nationwide trend of youngsters 2 youngsters crime.

raped, rescued... ? I read between the lines something totally different. There was very probably mutual consent to my understanding! Why then shaping this article in a most negative way! Her age (11) was apparently the only serious problem for which the "rapers" (sic) will be prosecuted!

D3: I know, you're right, I just didn't want to disturb anyone, not speaking here about the BP boys who are getting more picky about what we write, but about some (1,000++) 'officials' combing the net (not only for porn), I can tell my net connection's been suffering a lot, more than once, for a long while, after posting some political comments, d'you think I am paranoid...?
