Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra did not order Pheu Thai to push for an amnesty law when he talked via Skype with the party's coordinating committee yesterday, his legal adviser and close aide Noppadon Pattama said on Tuesday.

Mr Noppadon admitted Thaksin had phoned in on Skype, but said reports that he ordered Pheu Thai to push for quick action in passing an amnesty law for political offenders were not correct.

If so many people don't like Mr T then why vote for his family... When majority vote for his family to lead ThaiLand then let it be. Thai people are suck no wonder they are so behind.

The previous article reported the contents of the skype conversion from un-named sources. I tend to give more credence to articles whose sources actually identify themselves for the record - like this one.

I would really like to read an article which explains to the BP readers the legality of all these Skype sessions. I understand that legally it is not wrong when Yingluck talks to her brother, even if he is a wanted criminal.
But I am sure there must be some laws in Thailand that a convicted criminal is not allowed to speak with top politicians about secrets. And it must be secrets because otherwise all that information would be public and we would not hear very different interpretations about what Thaksin said or not.
If the police does not do anything then maybe the DEMs and their lawyers can explain the laws to them.

The media tells the public that Thaksin ordered Pheu Thai to push for the amnesty law via skype.

A few hours later Thaksin's close friend and legal adviser Noppadon Pattama said Thaksin did not order Pheu Thai to push for an amnesty law when he talked via Skype with the party's coordinating committee.

Which is it? Release that skype dialog, unedited, to the public and let the public decide.

We all want to know who REALLY is running this country.
