PCC gets final 30-day extension

The Royal Thai Police Office (RTPO) has given PCC Development and Construction Co (PCC) another 30 days to complete the construction of 396 police stations nationwide, by April 17, or face a civil suit demanding 5.8 million baht per day in damages, national police chief Adul Saengsingkaew announced on Thursday.

PCC was awarded the sole contract for 396 police station buildings in all nine police regions.  The contract, after several extensions, expired today, March 14.

Most of the work remains unfinished and the sites abandoned.

Has the company been doing any work during these past months of investigation? What good is another 30 day extension?

I hope common sense prevails here.

Whoever in the RTPO was assigned to oversee this project need to be held accountable. As for liquidated damages from PCC I imagine the RTPO may as well whistle Dixie.
Another totally corrupt project...on both sides I am sure...
    Taxpayers taken for another ride...
