Shinawatras buy minor slice of PTT

The family of exiled former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has acquired some shares in energy giant PTT Plc, but only a minor stake without management control, a company executive says.

However, PTT president and chief executive Pailin Chuchottaworn yesterday shot down rumours that Thaksin had taken over the PTT management.

He declined to specify the name of the Shinawatra family member who holds the shares.
