- +

Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong has admitted to entertaining the idea of dismissing the Bank of Thailand (BoT) governor because of his refusal to cut the key policy rate.

"I think of changing the BoT chief every day," Mr Kittiratt said when asked if he had considered the move.

Speaking during a debate on Thailand's economic future with former finance minister Korn Chatikavanij late on Thursday, Mr Kittiratt, who is also deputy prime minister, said it was the first time he had disclosed his thoughts on the matter.
