Militants wreak havoc in Pattani

Militants set fires at many different spots in four districts of Pattani province on Saturday night to cause a disturbance, provincial police chief Pol Maj-Gen Ekapop Prasitwattanachai said. 

He said the incidents occurred from 8pm to 3am in Muang, Yaring, Nong Chik and Yarang districts.

In Muang district, a car tyre was set ablaze on Highway 42 (Pattani-Narathiwat) between Laem Nok intersection and Jongraksatya Witthaya School; a tree trunk was laid across Highway 42 near the new bus terminal; optic fibre cables belonging to AIS were set alight at a spot on Highway 42 and another spot on Highway 410  (Pattani-Yala); and a security camera and a telephone kiosk in front of Satwitthaya School in tambon Tanyonglula were set ablaze.
