Tanit Sorat, the secretary-general of the rift-ridden Federation of Thai Industries, on Monday said he would remain as acting FTI president until matters between the feuding parties are resolved.
Mr Tanit was speaking after a meeting of the FTI’s executive board at a hotel in Bangkok. The meeting was held to discuss ways to end an internal conflict that began late last year.
Mr Tanit had earlier indicated he would step down as acting president. However, he said the majority of the board members at the meeting asked him to stay in the job until the conflict ends, and he had accepted the request.
