Nattawut: 30% of rice now inspected

About 30% of the 2,100 rice storage facilities under the rice pledging scheme throughout the country had been inspected as of early Thursday afternoon and authorities had not found any irregularities so far, Deputy Commerce Minister Nattawut Saikuar said. 

Mr Nattawut was speaking after a video conference with national police chief Adul Saengsingkaew, commanders of Metropolitan Police divisions 1-9 and Provincial Police regions 1-9, senior highway and immigration police.

He was briefed on progress in the sweeping inspection of rice stockpiles.
