54 inmates move closer to home ahead of Ramadan

- +

Fifty-four prisoners serving sentences for security-related offences have been moved to prisons nearer their homes ahead of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, to the delight of their families in the far South.

The transfers were confirmed by officials at the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC).

Lorkaya Pridi, 43, wife of Patani United Liberation Organisation (Pulo) core leader Kosem Jehloh, said she was happy her husband was relocated from Klong Prem Prison in Bangkok to the central prison in Songkhla a few days ago.
