A pickup truck carrying about 70 dogs crammed into a single cage was intercepted by police in Sakon Nakhon province on Tuesday. 

Pol Lt Col Anusorn Norbutrkham, superintendent of the Highway Police Region 5, said the vehicle, with licence plate Sakon Nakhon Bor Thor (บธ) - 2118, was stopped on route 223 in Muang district.

Police arrested 45-year-old driver Sawaeng Dalunphan and Wittaya Dalunphan, 47. Both are Sakhon Nakhon residents.
