US law enforcers on Thursday met the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to discuss ways to return fugitive former monk Wirapol Sukphol to Thailand.

DSI chief Tarit Pengdith and DSI investigators met Thailand-based representatives from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to discuss the case of Mr Wirapol, who is believed to be hiding in the US.

The fugitive ex-monk, formerly known as Luang Pu Nen Kham, faces eight charges covering false advertising, statutory rape, tax evasion, drug use, false academic representation, manslaughter, money laundering and claiming to possess supernatural powers.
