The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has seized the oil supply line which leaked thousands of litres of crude into the Gulf of Thailand last month as part of its planned special investigation into the disaster.
Announcing the results of a preliminary probe yesterday, the department said carelessness on the part of PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) workers may have caused the spill.
The supply line seized by the DSI connected a Greece-flagged tanker to a PTTGC buoy. Crude oil was being transferred from the ship to Map Ta Phut industrial estate on Rayong's coast.
