Democrats' refusal 'jeopardises reform push'

Assembly will go ahead despite boycotts

The government's political reform assembly might not be able to ensure comprehensive solutions for the political conflict because opposition parties have refused to take part in it, Prime Minister's Office Minister Varathep Rattanakorn said Sunday. 

Familiar faces for the past eight years, the leaders of the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) have officially ended their role with the mass-protest group.

Mr Varathep, also the deputy agriculture and cooperatives minister, spoke ahead of the first meeting of the assembly at Government House today.
